Service Connections
A customer must contact the MUL Customer Service Department by phone or use the contact form
before preparing for the connection of electricity and/or water in order to obtain the necessary
requirements for the specific type of connection.
Steps to Obtain New Connection
A new connection includes temporary or permanent supply of a service (water/electricity) that is
supplied by the licensee (MUL) for the first time.
STEP 1: Customers must contact the MUL Customer Service Department and make an initial
request for water and/or electricity installation.
STEP 2: Customers will be provided with all the necessary requirements to connect water and/or
electricity to their home or business.
STEP 3: The electricity and/or water Transmission & Distribution (T&D) Supervisor(s) will
meet onsite with the customer to discuss the service standards and the appropriate placement of
meter.
STEP 4: The customer is required to carry out all the instructions provided by MUL T&D
Supervisor(s)
STEP 5: Customers who require electricity must acquire a permit from the Physical Planning
Unit and then complete the New Connection of Supply form. Customers who require water supply needs to only complete our New Connection of Supply form.
Steps to Obtain Service to an Existing Connection
An existing connection includes those premises where a water and/or electricity meter already
exist.
1. A customer must contact the Customer Service Department at MUL, or use the contact form,
to request water and/or electricity installation.
2. If an electricity meter has been inactive for six (6) months or more, then an inspection is
required by MUL and Physical Planning Unit.

- Drivers license
- Social Security
- Proof of ownership- submit a certified copy of land certificate
- If renting, owner/landlord must submit approval or consent letter giving the tenant the right to put utilities in their name
General Information
- An applicant credit check will be conducted before opening a new account
- Service connections usually range within 1-7 working days from the time of applying for connection
- Property manager (Realtor) must present a letter from the property owner giving the manager the authorization to act on his/her behalf and the owner/landlord must provide the relevant information such as meter number, account name and location.

- Valid business license
- If the applicant is registered as a Company:
- Company Registration
- Two valid government issued identification of director(s) or owner(s)
- Passport
- Drivers license
- Social Security
General Information
- For proof of ownership, submit a certified copy of Land Registry
- If renting a consent form must be submitted and the owner/landlord must provide the relevant information such as meter number, account name and location.
